What’s a Podcast? You don’t actually need an iPod for podcasts. A podcast is essentially just a subscription to an audio or video file library.

As long as you can play audio and video on your computer you can receive podcasts! The first step is to download and install iTunes. There’s other software out there but iTunes is free.
